VGH – Regional Pharmacy Distribution Centre

The VGH Pharmacy renovation included demolition of the existing pharmacy and a major redevelopment to upgrade the regional production and pharmacy facility. Work occurred within an operational facility and infection control procedures were paramount during this renovation to keep staff and patients safe. The new layout included a receiving area, bar coding area, main work room, staff change rooms and a lounge space with kitchenette. Separate enclosed areas were allocated for liquids, pentapack packaging and HD compounds. The pharmacy also required preparation for a new automated drug dispenser to sort and distribute multiple types of pills.
