Vancouver General Hospital – Cath Lab

Project Type: Healthcare

Client: Vancouver Coastal Health

Designer: bau studio + architecture

Location: Vancouver

To prepare cath lab 03 for new medical imaging equipment, the scope included installing a new cooling system for the equipment room, new active gas scavenging that ran from an adjacent building, new electrical panels to accommodate project requirements, and the shutdown coordination of UPS panels. Additionally, upgrades were made to the radiation lead shielding, including new lead-lined doors, lead equivalent glass, and sheet lead within walls.

Working in the interstitial space at VGH, CDC coordinated with the Facilities staff to schedule work, limiting disturbance to those immediately above and below the site. The highest level of Infection Control procedures were implemented.
