Collingwood School – STEM Lab & Learning Commons
Project Type: Special Projects
Client: Collingwood School
Designer: Acton Ostry Architects
Location: West Vancouver
As part of a campus-wide transformation, Collingwood School underwent major renovations to enhance student learning and collaboration. The former library on Level 2 was converted into a 4,080 sq. ft. STEM Lab and Entrepreneurship Centre, featuring new workstation counters, a tool room, storage, and a display wall, with upgraded HVAC, electrical, and data systems.
On Level 1, the library was relocated to a new 3,600 sq. ft. Learning Commons, designed as an open, collaborative space with custom worktables, benches, and a circulation desk. A raised steel-framed platform with ramps, stairs, and wood slat guardrails was added, along with upgraded building systems.
This education construction project in West Vancouver highlights CDC’s expertise in delivering interior renovations within school environments.
