South Surrey Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC)
Project Type: Healthcare
Client: Fraser Health Authority
Designer: Chernoff Thompson Architects
Location: Surrey
CDC Construction delivered the South Surrey Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) in Surrey, completing a complex healthcare tenant improvement and clinic construction project within an existing retail environment. The facility integrates urgent care, primary care, and medical imaging services, providing a full spectrum of community-based healthcare.
The clinic includes exam and consult rooms, radiology suite, a medication room, communications room, open workstations, and supporting clinical spaces, all designed to meet hospital-grade standards.
As Construction Manager, CDC collaborated closely with Fraser Health Authority and the consultant team to support planning and delivery. Our scope included constructability reviews, site investigations, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and medical imaging systems within an active commercial building.
Key challenges included structural upgrades to support new loads, strict acoustic performance requirements, and integration of clinical-grade electrical and communications infrastructure.
