BCCA Vancouver Cancer Centre (VCC) PET CT Replacement

Project Type: Healthcare

Client: Provincial Health Services Authority

Designer: Stantec

Location: Vancouver

This project involved the replacement of a PET CT scanner and the renovation of adjacent medical imaging areas at BC Cancer – Vancouver. The scope required precise coordination, extensive service modifications, infection control, concrete cutting, and installation of thick steel radiation shielding. Wall and service layouts were carefully reviewed with vendors and consultants to ensure accuracy. The result is Canada’s first Quadra PET/CT scanner, a next-generation machine that delivers faster, whole-body imaging with higher quality and lower radiation exposure, advancing diagnostic capabilities and supporting the development of targeted cancer treatments.
